The Young And The Restless (Y&R) scoop for Wednesday, January 7 reveals Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn) will be heartbroken by Lily Winters’ (Christel Khalil) decision.
Also coming up, Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) will question Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman). Plus, Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) will conspire with Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc). And Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) is firmly on team Victor Newman (Eric Braeden).
Y&R spoilers tease Jack will defend Nikki as Diane bashes her. He’ll say she told him she was going to do everything she could to get Victor to back off. “And I believe her.” But Diane will say she thinks Michael is their best bet.
Y&R Daily Scoop – More Boring Jack And Diane Business Talk
Jack will point out Michael is every bit as loyal to Victor as Nikki is. They’ll continue to go back and forth, at length. And yes, their business talk is as boring as it always is. Luckily, Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) will eventually show up. He’ll tell his parents Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) wants to run a story about Newman Enterprises.
Kyle will add it’ll imply Newman is guilty of illegal activities regarding the implosion of Arabesque. “Victor has hurt us badly, I say we give him a dose of his own medicine.” But Jack will say Kyle should tell Billy to sit on it a little longer. They need proof that Victor has used the software.
At the GCAC restaurant, Cane will hand Lily a rose and she’ll glare at him. Lily will accept it though and say it’s lovely. Cane will tell her spending time together on New Year’s Eve made him feel like a teenager again.
“I’m very confused,” Lily will reply. “I let my defenses down.” So, she’ll say she’s leaving town for a while, to see their daughter. “I just need to clear my head,” Lily will tell a shocked Cane. “And get away from you.” Cane will promise to take a step back and give her some space. “No, you won’t,” she’ll reply.
Cane will say they should be spending more time together. “I love the idea of you going to see Mattie, so why don’t you let me come with you?” But Lily will refuse. “We are so beyond played out and if I have to leave town to make that message stick, so be it,” she’ll add. “What I do know is I am the last person you belong with.” Lily will say goodbye and storm off.
Then Jack will approach him and say he wants proof that Victor used the AI program to destroy Arabesque. “I’m willing to pay a hefty price.” Cane will tell Jack he doesn’t really want his money. But there might be a way he can find some proof.
Young And The Restless Scoop – Michael Suggests They Set Up Cane
Meanwhile, Michael will show up at the ranch to see Victor, but he’ll find Adam instead. He’ll tell the lawyer that Victor’s at the hospital with Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow). Adam will describe what happened with Matt Clark (Roger Howarth) and he’ll ask Michael if he wanted to speak with his father about the AI program.
“We have to choose sides and I’ve chosen mine,” he’ll add. “Which side are you on?” Michael will say he’ll always look out for Victor’s best interests. Then Michael will show Adam the Roman coin. “It’s a gift of friendship, from your father.” He’ll add that Adam’s not the only one who’s had to work to earn Victor’s trust.
“My father has a soft spot for you but I don’t,” Adam will reply. “And if you betray him, I will crush you.” Then Nikki will walk in and Adam will head to the hospital. Nikki will ask if Michael’s there to help Victor destroy Jack. He’ll say no, they are of like minds.
Michael will admit he’s been subtly trying to stop Victor. But Nikki will say subtle won’t cut it with Victor. She even tried to walk out on him. Michael will say they’re in the same boat and want to save Victor from himself. “I think we should put our heads together and fix this thing.” So, he’ll come up with a plan to secretly get their hands on the AI program.
Finally, Nikki will ask how they can get away with it. Michael will say they could arrange for the blame to fall on the one person who started the whole mess in the first place. “Cane,” Nikki will surmise. “Could we do that?” Michael will say he thinks they could. “Tell me more,” Nikki will reply.
